Cause, Effect, & Coffee.

KIGALI, RWANDA “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” - Mark Twain This first week in Kigali, Rwanda has been hard for me for a number of reasons - extremely spotty wifi, my left eye being bitten and blowing up to the size of about half of a large green grape twice, and being forced to inhale some[...]

Not So Basic.

Posted In: BeautifuLife | Style
I wanted to put together something casual and chic to highlight these amazing tri-toned heels from Alias Mae, and their neutral but popping color palette made it easy to do so. I stuck with my uniform jeans and white tee (another pair of my staple Hudson Nico Super Skinnies, and one of my new staple Everlane tees), then threw on a brown leather belt to accent and match my brown Fossil satchel along with this lovely, cascading trench coat from Akira; to add a bit of drama when I walk, just the way I like it. :) Sometime[...]

Sweat It.

Posted In: BeautifuLife | Style
Definitely didn't mean to lag on this style post, my sincerest apologies! Things have been pretty hectic on my end in terms of my time here in Africa in addition to all the preparation that had to happen beforehand (not complaining btw, feeling incredibly blessed to be out here doing what we're doing). Today I wanted to do something a little different. While I still think the base of this outfit is still pretty minimalist (I mean it's a sweatsuit for crying out loud), I honestly think what tips it slightly off the m[...]

#TECHSESH 02 ft. RINGLY – Discussion + Review

Posted In: BeautifuLife | Style | tech | video
I promised more TECH on my blog, and today I present to you my first feature on a wearable tech piece: RINGLY (a product I'm very excited about). As I've stated on here before, I've always been into gadgets, new camera gear, new apps, new iphone accessories, almost any geeky, techy thing you can name. Being that I'm also into personal style, you can imagine my elation when I heard about Ringly and its concept of stylish, smart jewelry that fuses the two worlds seamlessly.  The beautiful Black Onyx ring you see[...]

Remember when I announced that my photo book "TRINIDAD & TOBAGO: Who Said Turning 30 Was a Bad Thing?" in partnership with Blurb Books was finally ready and available for sale? Well now I'm sharing my next #BEAUTIFULIFEHACKS video where I discuss my bookmaking experience and the amazing platform that is Blurb Books (@BlurbBooks), empowering fellow creatives to put their work into something tangible. I couldn't be happier with mine and I deeply suggest you check them out and make one of your own - whether it be for y[...]

Itty Bitty Midi.

Posted In: BeautifuLife | Style
This amazing Midi Dress from GoJane may have some length to it but the way it clings to your body and hugs your curves makes it feel like a second skin. The elbow cut out detail also makes it really unique, while the neckline plunges just enough to show the perfect amount of skin. This dress definitely makes me feel sexy, and that is never a bad thing. As I mentioned yesterday in my newsletter, GoJane has some of the best selections of midi dresses that I've seen from an online store yet. To go with my dr[...]
