From that fateful hair makeover, to getting my right ear pierced in 3 places at once, to taking a risk and leaving full-time work to invest more time in the things that I love to do so desperately, and moving back to the Bay Area, this year has been quite a transitional one for me to say the least. Aren’t they all though? What is a year of your life anyway if not spent growing and transitioning in one way or another?

Anyway, I’ve revived my hair again (just the color this time around) with Tiffany Bernard at Union Salon South (big thanks to Leslie for connecting us), and guess what? I’m reinspired all over again. I’m “getting my life” by starting fresh (and I’m going to go off on a slight tangent here). I move to my new San Francisco place this Sunday, and I can’t explain the sheer joy in going through my boxes and figuring out what to keep, and what to toss. Being well aware that I probably wouldn’t have nearly as much square footage in SF as I did in my DTLA loft, I chucked a bunch of my furniture when I made the trek up. But now I’m also doing a wardrobe overhaul, and consolidating by getting rid of a lot (partially because of less closet space, partially because I just need that full refresh). There are so many pieces that I’m going to have a reallllllly hard time parting ways with, but it’s necessary.

What now? Only neutrals, only basics, only minimalist. And textures. And fine, a statement piece (or 10). But that’s it. I had already begun slimming down my actual useable wardrobe throughout the year, but now I’m literally donating/selling pieces to make room for new basics (I’m posting the clothes I’m selling on my Poshmark profile throughout the day today as I go through my boxes). Also, new room decor. My bed frame, desk, and plants will be the same, but all new everything else. I’ve been pinterest’ing like a mad man. My end goal is a Nordic/Scandinavian design inspired space that reflects/bounces all the beautiful natural light that shines in from the bay windows in my new room.

Yes, my new hairdo inspired all of this. Because new hair do’s that. Lol. Well actually, this has all been on my mind for quite some time now, but great hair revival commands action.

A HUGE thank you to Tiffany for working her magic on my hair and breathing new life into me. Not only did she take her time with me the day of and consult endlessly with me prior to our appointment to make sure we landed on something we both loved, but she so openly shared her knowledge on how to color/style/treat hair like mine and she gave me some really valuable tips. She’s an incredibly talented colorist and I would highly recommend her to anyone. Not to mention, she has such a sweet/funny/down-to-earth personality which makes the conversations in the salon chair that much better. We’re totally friends now. :) Make sure to follow her on Instagram @tiffygotsthis and give her a shout if you need to get your life together with a hair makeover the way I did. For those of you wondering, she blended my roots and my particular color is a mauve/lavender/silver color melt, which is essentially a gradient of 3 colors. I wanted my hair to be darker than the white/blonde it had been for several months, but I still wanted it to be fun while keeping it ashy/muted. This was that perfect happy medium.

The lip color I’m wearing is Urban Decay Naked Lipgloss in “Nooner” with “1993” Lipliner (see below). Also, new hairdos clearly bring out the very rare #selfie-ist in me. :)
