Woke up to my beautiful and inviting nook area this morning (pictured above), as I do every morning, and felt absolutely refreshed. In case you were wondering (probably not, but just in case lol), I did absolutely nothing last night for NYE. I felt zero need to ring in the new year momentously in one night, because I believe everything I’ve been working on up until now has already done that. As I sit here at Judahlicious, consuming the delicious Acai Bowl you see in the first photo and reflecting on 2015 while dreaming about 2016, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of wonder and humility. While I did sporadically post 3 videos to my BEAUTIFULIFE youtube channel over a year ago, it was last March that I decided I wanted to take blogging/vlogging seriously by being more consistent. That’s when THISBEAUTIFULIFE was born and I purchased thisbeautifulife.com to make it official. While still very much in my humble beginnings, within such a short amount of time, I have been honored and blessed to work with some of the brands I have always loved and respected. I am so thankful for each representative from every brand who believes in my vision enough to partner up with me, because they feel that my aesthetic speaks to theirs. It is truly humbling when the brands you respect choose to work with you despite (or in addition to) the abundance of other talented bloggers and content creators out there. This is a big part of what pushes me to continue forward.
That said, I can’t quite articulate how excited I am for 2016. Without divulging too much and in the interest of saving time, I’ll share the bit of news that I’m most excited about for the coming year. On top of a number of other travel plans, I’ve officially partnered up with The Cultureist and its two sister organizations Humanity Unified and Travel + Social Good to spread the positive and inspiring messages of giving back, helping others in need, and partaking in conscious, responsible, sustainable travel. I have a number of really exciting projects coming up with them, the first being a trip to Rwanda at the end of this month to do some social work. We’ll be setting the groundwork for our first initiative to raise $55k for the women in Rwanda through education, economic opportunities, and food security projects. I always said that if I had any type of influence at all, I would use it to do good, and do right – this is my first major step toward achieving that goal and manifesting that dream. You can read more about our cause here.
I am so excited to take you all on this journey with me, as I see and experience the world in new ways by fully immersing myself in culture, knowledge, and positive energy. My goal is to share my travels with you and tell meaningful stories that matter. The endless amounts of love that I received on my Trinidad & Tobago vlog really ignited a fire within me to get out there and connect with people and places around the world, and I’m making it a point to do just that. For those of you who come to my blog for fashion and beauty content, don’t you worry, I’ll still be peppering that content in – because dressing like a refined young woman is a neverending project for me. 😉
A HUGE thank you to everyone who played a part in the growth of this blog in 2015 – readers, subscribers, followers, and partnered brands. Wishing you all the health, happiness, success, and love that you can handle in 2016. Make it your year. 😉28 awesome people like this post
