I wanted to steer clear of the usual “festival attire” for this post, because we all know that layering textures and sheers, and putting bindis, jewels, and flash tattoos all over your body and face are the popular way to go. I wanted to take a more simple approach by using great denim as a base and then mixing, matching, and accessorizing as you see fit. Here is what I came up with.
Note: these amazing photos were shot by the incredibly talented Aris Jerome, and he and I went out guerilla style and ventured to the Angeles National Forest to take these. We were literally hiking up mountains to get these shots, so even if we were incredibly limited in the amount of looks/accessories/etc that we could actually take with us on the hike, I think we did well!
I wanted to make my Hudson boyfriend jeans sexier by putting a strappy bodysuit on underneath it, to show some skin and shape; with these neutral tan/brown Nine West heels that I’ve been wearing constantly because they’re so comfy and they match everything. I also slipped on this white lace robe that I’ve had for years to add a flowy element to the ensemble. I topped it off with an Amaroq crown (one of the brands on THE LIST), and it really rounded out the outfit and made it festive, fun, and unique. Besides, I think Coachella or any music festival is the perfect place to wear a crown, don’t you?
I styled my high-waisted Hudson flares with the same Nine West heels as the boyfriend jeans, and a simple vintage crop(ish) top. This outfit is a really good base for an outer layer like a suede vest or fringe vest. These flares would also work really well with a loose, flowing, shirt with bell sleeves. These flares are by far the best that I’ve ever had in my closet in my entire life (and I had a million in the 90’s). If you’re looking for the perfect flares to hug your curves, lift your booty, and add some length to those legs, I highly suggest investing in these.
The Hudson overalls are the most comfortable and flattering overalls ever! The denim is incredibly soft, so it doesn’t feel heavy and stiff like some other overalls do, and they actually fit well around the hip/booty area! I paired them with a white cropped bustier and these cute brown quilted Eddie Marc boots. I loved this outfit because I could climb these cliff-like walls and still look fairly decent doing it.36 awesome people like this post
