As some of you may know, I recently added Fable Soap Co. to THE LIST, and am so happy it’s provided such quality variety in the types of products featured here on my blog. Beauty absolutely isn’t only skin deep, but in my humble opinion, your skin is the best and only place to start if you want to feel great about your outward appearance. I don’t usually pay that much attention to my skin because thankfully I’ve never really had many issues with it, and my daily skin regimen usually keeps it pretty nourished (I use cocoa butter every day). But every once in a while, like during minor to extreme weather/climate changes, my skin reacts and dries out – it’s not too severe, but it’s definitely noticeable. Fable Soap Co. sent me their Bee & Jupiter soap to try out, and now that I’ve been using it for the entire week, I feel like I’ve paid close enough attention to give an honest review.
Upon opening the package I immediately smiled because packaging and presentation are so important to me. As someone who works in marketing and sincerely enjoys finding creative ways to enhance customer experience, I understand how even the smallest details can make a big difference. I was greeted with the “Tell A Beautiful Story” card that you see in the photos, and for some reason that simple message alone made me think and inspired me to do just as it instructed. Then, just like that…before I had even used it, the product was effective in evoking a positive influence on me. The serif font dictating the ingredients and the quote, the handwritten portion of the labeling, the perfectly knotted hemp rope, everything about it was so aesthetically pleasing and I enjoyed slowly opening the little gift as if it was Christmas. Clearly, I LOVE a well-packaged anything.
The soap feels incredibly silky even without water, but once it’s wet and touches your skin, it goes on so smoothly and rinses off thoroughly so as not to leave a film on your skin. After several days of using it I have noticed that even in this really unpredictable LA weather (it has literally gone from blistering hot and dry, to cold, windy and drizzly within this past week), my skin has remained soft and moisturized, with no reactions to the climate changes at all. I imagine it has everything to do with the all-natural and organic ingredients including goat’s milk, which is so much better as a soap base versus the water that most drug store soaps are made with. Not to mention it smells amazing; subtle, subdued, and natural. Read more about them and their backstory on why their products are so great, here.
I’ll definitely be checking out their other products, more specifically their bath soaks and their lip balms, because I’m so happy with the soap. If you’re looking for a new skincare system that doesn’t use any harsh chemicals and is made with love, Fable Soap Co. is the way to go.
